Debut EP from UK based artist Concrete Wildlife.
I have learnt a lot this year. I read somewhere around a quarter of the English language is borrowed from Greek. Peirama is the Greek word for experiment and that is exactly what I (songwriter Matt Watkins) along with producer Andy Fletcher have been doing for the last 8 months or so. The 4 tracks on Concrete Wildlife’s debut EP are the result of many days and nights of tinkering in a studio in central Manchester. Trying out new ideas has been the key to creating these fresh recordings and though it’s been mostly enjoyable it has also been testing and tiring. For example singing the same line through a microphone into a delay pedal for 4 hours can be a test for your mind as well as your vocal chords.
I wanted to create something new but didn’t want to go down the age old route of forming a band. I used the studio like a science lab piecing together the elements of the songs gradually so that I could really focus on each individual part.

Results Of Experiment so Far
We have created something new which we are quite pleased with. Concrete Wildlife mixes traditional analogue sounds with more modern electronic instrumentation resulting in a unique blend of alternative pop. We’ve also learnt a bit of Greek.
Analogue Sounds + Electronic Sounds + A Lot of Time = CONCRETE WILDLIFE
